About the artist
Jakob Klemenčič, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 1968
He managed to finish secondary school for electrical engineering and get a degree in art history. He's been dabbling in comics more or less seriously since youth and was involved with Stripburger magazine from its beginning. Apart from numerous xeroxed little booklets, he has 2 solo books published: »Os Anjos« (2000) and »Bratovščina Sivega goloba« (2008). In his better days, he travelled a lot by train, and being a miser that he is, he often took night trains to save money. As a bonus, half-baked revelations sometimes happened.

About the project
Checkpoint is a work in progress of silkscreen posters, made by international artists during occasional visits to Lisbon, Portugal. Like check point agents, we ask the artist in transit to leave a printed mark of his passage by. We don’t propose a thematic manifestation, but we appreciate a sturdy graphic. With this project we aim to create an international cluster of startling expressions, through the silkscreen medium.
